Trust your care to board certified orthodontists

At Vivid Orthodontics, you can always trust that you are getting the highest level of care from our orthodontic staff. We are proud to have a board certified orthodontist, Dr. Brian Michel, leading our team. Dr. Michel received his certification through the American Board of Orthodontics in 2020 proving that he is committed to providing the best patient care.

How do Orthodontists become board certified?

Becoming a board certified orthodontist is an extensive process. Those pursuing a career as an orthodontist must complete an undergraduate degree followed by a three to four year dental school program. They must graduate from dental school with a high ranking to be accepted into an orthodontic residency program. After completing the two to three year residency program, they are eligible to pursue board certification.

Orthodontists must complete and pass a rigorous written examination and clinical examination to become board certified.

Are all Orthodontists certified?

No, all orthodontists are not board certified. The decision to become board certified is voluntary and is not required for an orthodontist to practice. In fact, only about a third (33%) of orthodontists are board certified.

Orthodontists who choose to become board certified show that they are committed to patient care and practicing orthodontics at the highest level.

Why choose a board certified orthodontist?

Choosing a board certified orthodontist ensures that you are selecting a professional that has had their knowledge and skills tested to the highest standards.

At Vivid Orthodontics, we pride ourselves in providing the best possible care to our patients by always keeping up-to-date on the newest technologies and techniques. We strive to continuously improve the efficiency and outcomes of orthodontic treatment.
